The RailHawk™, FlightHawk™, SK-6000-TC and SK-4500-TC provide critical coverage with a wide frequency range from 1 MHz to 6 GHz.
Discontinuities can be a real problem and cause significant reflections by damaged cables, loose or improperly installed connectors, and environmental factors. With Bird’s DTF (Distance to Fault) mode, SiteHawk finds the exact location of the problem “in true distance units”!

- Test RF cables and antennas at the frequency of operation.
- Locate RF cable, connector and antenna problems at the source.

- Fault location or DTF mode plots VSWR or Return Loss levels at each distance point along the cable and antenna system length.

Bird's FH-AV-BASIC, FlightHawk™ RF Aviation Basic Test Kit provides rapid and accurate testing of multiple antenna and cable systems in complex airframe systems. Our Cable and Antenna Analyzer assist aircraft maintenance technicians with commissioning, maintenance and fault-finding of ground-to-air radios, airborne radios, repeaters, antennas, antenna combiners and transmission cables.
FlightHawk Basic is excellent starter kit for the Novice to Expert, Bird’s easy to use aviation testing software enables maintenance personnel to test and verify all the radio systems in your fleet. By utilizing an inspection technique called frequency domain reflectometer (FDR), you can test and verify the antennas and cables in your RF system individually or as a complete system.
If you want to expand your testing capabilities, this special designed case has placeholders for Bird’s wideband power sensor, needed cabling and adapters –specifically to fit avionics power measurement needs. Need to quickly identify faulty antennas, cables and connectors to get your radio system back into service? Avoid the downtime and expense of trial and error of swapping components to fix your issue with the Bird® SiteHawk (General Purpose) Test Kit.
FEATURES
- Utilize the Measure/Match function to sweep your system to determine how well your components are matched to 50 ohms.
- Use the Distance to Fault (DTF) to display RF return loss or VSWR data versus distance. Allows quick identification of poor connections, damaged cables, or faulty antennas.
- Multiple models available utilizing Bird power sensors with varying frequency and power ranges in order to select the model best suited to the application.
KIT COMPONENTS
POWER SENSOR SELECTION GUIDE Select one of the five RF Power Sensor Options below. Each Bird SiteHawk Test Kit includes the SK-4500-TC Cable and Antenna Analyzer. The SK-6000-TC can be substituted for SK-4500-TC by adding -6 to the part number, e.g. 7003A001-5-6.
